Biography:

Kyle Hagen is an active and passionate bass player and instructor based in Vancouver. He plays electric and upright bass with influences and involvement in every genre of music, especially favouring heavy metal, jazz, classical and world music. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music from Vancouver Community College and has completed additional studies from the classical music program at Douglas College, the jazz program at Capilano University and Romani/folkloric music in Romania. Kyle’s career as a bassist has given him opportunities record and perform across Canada, U.S.A, Europe and Turkey at various music venues, studios, festivals, private functions and television programs. Some of the bands and artists, past and present, he has worked with are Aggression, The Whiskeydicks, Simon Collins, Cassandra Bangel, Serwan Yamolky, Sinned and Lache Cercel’s Roma-Jazz Ensemble as well as various cover and tribute bands.
